-Berserkr- The Recovered footage

Feb 26 2013

Recently, I was working on my most recent silent film “Berserkr” when my Hard Drive died and I lost all the footage we spent a summer filming. Fortunately I have enough rough edits to compile some footage together…these scenes dont reperesent the true version of the film but they are at least the only proof the movie existed.

-Traveling Players Ensemble- Director of the Tempest

Feb 15 2013

In the summer of 2012 I had the amazing opportunity to work with Traveling Players Ensemble. Jeanne Harrison the brilliant and wonderful camp founder and director hired me as the High School Ensemble Director of the Shakespeare production “Tempest”. I directed to different ensembles in 4 week blocks. The really interesting thing about this camp is its focus on training kids in the outdoors and touring a production at the Shenandoah National Park.

Here is a video about the camp. You can see clips of the play I directed and other shots myself directing the students.

-The King Stag- 5 Star review and Feature Article

May 17 2012

I was fortunate to receive a lot of positive attention in the press for the Production of King Stag I directed at the Folsom Lake College. Barry Wisdom of the Sacramento Press did a feature article on me as a director and the relevance of Commedia Dell’Arte and SN&R gave the show 5 stars.

The show went over really well with the audience every night.

-Glasnost- Famiglia Marching Band Street Performances

Oct 01 2011

During my 3 years of study at Dell’Arte International my fellow classmates and it created the Glasnost Famiglia Marching Band. We were a Character band who played on the streets during events and festivals. This was a side project non-related to the school. We were invited to many cabarets, fundraisers, and events where we would perform a full set of music for the crowds. . This became something we did in our past time as we started to gain some fame in the Hunboldt area. We were regularly appearing and performing throughout 2007-2009. We were featured twice on KHSU and played on the streets of San Francisco during the christmas season. In the Fall of 2009 it was decided that Glasnost would be the Dell’Arte companies holiday show production. We toured a family friendly version of “The Glasnost Family Holiday Show” under the direction of Joan Schirle.

Evan and I presented awards as two “film critis” Edgar Hope and Micky Hoohaw.

Played Achilles

Inferno Theatre Company

Directed by Giulio Perrone

Berkeley, CA

We received our first review today from the Berkeley Daily Planet.

Daily Planet review

Honored to receive a positive review from well known playwright, Director, and Actor George Birimisa

“…Then we went to see an avant garde production of THE ILIAD at the INFERNO THEATER in Berkeley. Indeed it was an INFERNO with the gorgeous young actors writhing acrss the narrow stage that was covered with Turkish blankets.  This brilliant, imaginative adaptation was written and directed by Giulio Cesare Perrone… Jamie Van Camp as ACHILLES  was powerful until an arrow pierced his Achilles heel. His performance was outstanding–and I could tell that  this was real ENSEMBLE ACTING. I was impressed.”

Dec 20 2010

“Riderless” is a Film Darin Coelho Spring of Cinema Caldera and Myself have been talking about doing for over a year. The story is by Darin and I wrote the screenplay and Directed it. Both Darin and I have a love for old silent film so we decided this film would work well in that style. We tried our best to honor that form. We ended up getting some great help and many people dedicating time to helping this project come to life. What came out of all this hard work was a poetic western melodrama that we are very proud of.

For three weeks this fall/winter we used most of our free time to make this happen.

Here are some pictures of the process.

The Heidelberg Project

Jul 14 2010

On the Way back from Toronto Richard, Liza, Jason, and I were able to Visit the wonderful and stunning Heidelberg Project in Detroit.

I was blown away with everything I saw. It was chilling to walk through these abandoned neighborhoods and see these sculptures giving life and new meaning to a devistated place. A life changing thing to see.

We had the fortune of meeting the man who started the project Tyree Guyton. A very generous and caring man. Obviously wanting to make a difference in that city with so many troubles. We were able to Paint a circle on the road. I wish I could remember the words he used to describe what it represented. Check out his website and donate if you can.

Its amazing to see art that makes an impact like this.

You can Follow Liza and Richard of The Hinterlands (who are now in Detroit) on this blogsite
